The
uppermost room at the RICHARD
III MUSEUM is used as a theatre in the summer, seating
50 people. It is this room that King Richard III added to Monk
Bar in 1484.
Each
year York-based actor Michael S. Bennett performs his widely acclaimed
show "AN AUDIENCE
WITH KING RICHARD III" in the theatre.
In
the play King Richard, with passion, flamboyance and not a little
humour, presents his case. Afterwards, the audience are invited
to ask questions.
The show has been hugely successful and has been performed in
theatres throughout the UK.
"AN
AUDIENCE WITH KING RICHARD III" is generally performed
in August.
